Lit Class

In Lit class, we were just starting our unit on Romanticism. They believed in the power of nature and the goodness of man and all that stuff. Our teacher put a PowerPoint presentation on the board which contained several images regarding nature and asked us to describe what they made us feel or think about. One of them was this one:

A few people raised their hands to say that it made them feel powerful or relaxed, etc. Student A raises her hand and says, "This reminds me of the time my friend and I stood on a cliff overlooking a river and staged a fight every time a tour boat came past." Amidst the class's uproarious laughter, she continued, "Well, it's a rock, and cliffs are made of rock, so..." A later picture was this one:


There were many theories about his having enjoyed life and many about the misery he must be feeling, but almost all involved legal action against his dentist. Student B raised her hand and said, "This reminds me of me, when I leave Lit class. I just have so much homework!!!"
